001 Aindow, Charles. He was a Night Watchman on the Lusitania and lived at Formby West Lane, Freshfield, Liverpool. Age 37. HIs parents were John, a fisherman, and Catherine (nee Norris) Aindow, of Formby (both parents were natives of Formby and born ca. 1838). His parents had married 30 January 1860 in the church of St. Marie at Southport, Lancashire, and Charles was born 18 February 1878 at Formby, Lancashire. His known brothers and sisters were Alice, b. ca. 1862, Henry, b. ca. 1864, John, b. ca. 1865, Robert, b. ca. 1867, Thomas, b. ca. 1868, Mary, b. ca. 1870, Joseph, b. ca. 1872, William, b. ca. 1876, Catherine, b. ca. 1880, and Margarita (spelling?), b. ca. 1884. In 1901, he was noted as a fisherman living at Formby with his parents and siblings Henry, 37, William, 25, both fishermen, Catherine, 20, and Margarita, 16. In 1911, he was still noted as a fisherman, living in his native Formby. Charles Aindow did not survive the sinking of the Lusitania. His remains were recovered (No. 170) and he was sent to Formby on May 15th. He was buried at Our Lady of Compassion Roman Catholic Churchyard in Formby.
