James Battle. He was an Able Seaman on the Lusitania. He was born ca. 1848 in County Sligo, Ireland. In 1911, he lived in the Exchange area of Liverpool and was noted as a mariner working for the Cunard Line, aged 63. His wife was Jane Battle, aged 50, a native of Liverpool. His/their son John, 28, also a mariner working for the Cunard Line, born at Westport, Co. Mayo,  also lived with them. They also had a boarder stayding with them, widow Margaret Melia, 61, a native of Birmingham, There is a chance James Battle married Jane McCormick at Liverpool in early 1882. James Battle survived the sinking of the Lusitania.
