393 Wallace Edkin Wood, age 47. He was the 2nd Cabin Barkeeper on the Lusitania. He was the son of the late Roderick, a principal prison warder born 17 January 1841 at Alness, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland, and Charlotte (nee Edkin; she had been born 1839 at Harrington, Cumberland; she had married an Anthony Penrice in 1859, before marrying Wallace’s father Roderick) Wood. In 1881, the Wood family lived at Hornby Road in Walton on the Hill, Lancashire. Wallace was 14 years of age and had two young siblings; Barwise Edkin, 7 (b. 24 November 1873) , and Catherine Gillander/Gallandow, 3 (b. 22 March 1878; the church records say her name was Catherine Gillandow Wood; 1891 census for England has her name as Catherine Gallanders Wood; family claims her name was Charlotte Gillander Wood). His parents had married 9 January 1866 in Cheshire. He was born 23 March 1867 and christened 23 April the same year at Saint Peter’s Church in Liverpool in the Church of England. He was the husband of Flora Wood (nee Ferguson), of 44, Thorndale Road, Waterloo, Liverpool. Wallace Edkin Wood married Flora Ferguson at Kirkdale, Lancashire, 18 February, 1897. His father was a Roderick Wood, according to the marriage record. There was an obituary in Liverpool Daily Post and Mercury, May 18.
