Cole, a farmer born about 1857 at Cirencester, and the late Ellen Julia (nee Cuss; she had been born about 1859 in Gloucestershire) Cole, who lived at Ampney St. Mary, Cirencester, Gloucestershire. William Henry had been born at Cirencester, where his birth was registered in the last quarter of 1886. He was christened on 21 November the same year in Gloucestershire. His parents had married in the third quarter of 1884 at Cirencester. In 1891, the Cole family lived at London Road in Ampney St. Mary, Gloucestershire. William was 4 years old and his brothers and sisters were Maurice Neville, 5, Susan Eleanor, 2, and Winifred Mary, an infant. There were two servants living in the Cole family household; Emma Wilcox, 17, and Rose Emma Tyler, 16 (a nurse maid). His 1915 address was given as 105 Belgrave Road, Liverpool.
