Robert Grainger. Waiter. He was born 30 July 1884 in Old Machar, Aberdeen, to John M., a joiner born about 1853 in Scotland, and Rodina (nee Grainger!? she had been born about 1857 in Scotland; quite possibly 7 November 1858 at Old Machar, then as Rodina McKenzie Grainger) Grainger, who had married 16 October 1874 in Old Machar, Aberdeen. In 1901, the Grainger family lived at Lower Breck Road in Walton on the Hill, Lancashire. Robert was 16 years of age and was a (domestic) coachman. His siblings were noted as Mary, 24, a draper’s assistant, Charles, 19, a french polisher, Robina, 11, and Gordon, 4 (all siblings were born in Scotland). On 30 March 1904, he married Mary Jane Davies in Liverpool and the couple had two daughters. He served in the Army and at some point, his wife must have passed away. He married widow Elizabeth Parker (nee Monkhouse) in or after 1917 and they had two sons. He died in July 1954, aged 68, in Walton, Liverpool.
